Project Summary
The INDEYOUTH project, “Fostering Youth Social Independence, ” addresses the critical issue of youth lacking essential social skills necessary for personal development, social independence, and employability. Recognizing the importance of social skills as predictors of future success and employability, the project aims to equip youth with advanced social skills and provide youth workers with the competencies to effectively train young people in this area.
The project focuses on the following key social skills directly linked to employability:
Basic Communication Skills: Including body language, eye contact, tone of voice, clarity, concision, and confidence in communication.
Empathy and EQ: Recognizing and understanding emotions, both in oneself and others, and effectively managing them. Interpersonal Skills: Sharing, joining activities, dealing with others, planning, organizing, and implementing initiatives. Problem-Solving Skills: Active listening, decision-making, situation analysis, conflict resolution, etc.
Accountability:
Recognizing mistakes and taking responsibility, fostering a conciliatory and cooperative attitude. The project involves six experienced organizations from across Europe, namely uDevelop from Germany, Asociacion Juvenil from Spain, Asociatia Scout from Romania, Equaline from Greece, and Wise Academy from Sweden.
