On 31 July 2026, Equaline hosted the Dyna Diversa Local Conference in Veria, Greece. The event brought together 30 educators, university students, youth workers, NGO professionals, researchers, administrative staff, and other stakeholders to explore how Diversity Management Skills can support more inclusive, equitable, and welcoming higher education environments.
The conference provided an opportunity to present the Dyna Diversa project, share its educational resources, exchange experiences, and discuss practical approaches to diversity management in higher education.
Building skills for inclusive education
Dyna Diversa “Dynamic Training Program for Diversity Management Skills Enhancement in Higher Education Environments” aims to strengthen the competences needed to recognise and respond to diversity-related challenges in educational settings.
During the conference, participants were introduced to the project’s objectives, methodology, activities, and results. Discussions focused on the growing importance of Diversity Management Skills for educators, trainers, learners, administrative staff, and organisations working in higher education.
Key topics included:
- Inclusive teaching and learning.
- Cultural competence.
- Intersectionality.
- Educational equity.
- Inclusive communication.
- Bias recognition and management.
- Practical responses to diversity-related challenges.
The event also highlighted how diversity management contributes not only to fair participation, but also to student well-being, educational quality, belonging, and institutional development.
From theory to practical application
A central part of the conference was the presentation of the Dyna Diversa Training Programme and its modular, interactive approach. Rather than focusing only on theoretical concepts, the programme uses realistic scenarios and guided reflection to help participants explore how diversity-related situations can be addressed in practice.
During the scenario-based activities, participants examined examples such as:
- Exclusion during group work.
- Culturally insensitive comments.
- Unequal participation among students with different language skills.
- Learning activities that may unintentionally disadvantage certain learners.
Working in groups, participants discussed possible responses and reflected on the responsibilities of educators, students, administrative staff, and higher education institutions.
The practical workshop encouraged participants to consider how the training materials could be used in university courses, staff-development activities, facilitated workshops, youth work, and other non-formal education contexts.
A diverse group of Greek stakeholders
The conference gathered participants with different educational and professional backgrounds:
- 12 higher education educators, lecturers, and trainers.
- 8 university students and young adults.
- 6 youth workers and NGO professionals.
- 4 researchers, administrative staff, and other stakeholders.
This diversity enriched the discussions and allowed participants to approach inclusion from learner, educator, organisational, research, and civil-society perspectives. The exchange of experiences also created opportunities for networking and future cooperation.
Positive feedback and strong interest
Feedback was collected from all 30 participants and showed highly positive results. Participants evaluated the relevance, clarity, learning value, practical usefulness, and future potential of the Dyna Diversa resources.
The main findings included:
- 93.3% considered the training relevant to their educational or professional needs.
- 90% found the presentations and materials clear and easy to understand.
- 93.3% stated that the event improved their understanding of Diversity Management Skills.
- 86.7% felt more confident applying inclusive practices.
- 96.7% would use or recommend the Dyna Diversa resources.
- 93.4% were satisfied or very satisfied with the event.
- 33.3% identified scenario-based learning as the most useful component.
The results demonstrate strong interest in practical tools that can help education professionals and organisations address diversity-related challenges. Participants particularly appreciated the opportunity to connect the project content with real situations from their own educational and professional experience.
Strengthening the project’s impact in Greece
The event contributed to the visibility and sustainability of Dyna Diversa in Greece by connecting the project with local stakeholders who can support the future use and dissemination of its results.
Participants received information about the Dyna Diversa partnership, training programme, modules, scenario-based activities, and potential applications. They were also encouraged to share the project resources through their institutions, professional networks, and community organisations.
The conference demonstrated the value of combining structured presentations with interactive learning, group reflection, and open discussion. It also confirmed the importance of creating continued opportunities for practice, coaching, and implementation planning.
Moving forward together
Equaline’s local conference was a meaningful step towards promoting inclusion, diversity, and collaboration in higher education across Europe. By bringing together educators, learners, youth workers, researchers, and civil-society representatives, the event created space for dialogue and practical learning.
Dyna Diversa continues to support the development of higher education environments where every learner can participate, feel respected, and reach their potential.
