CERV PROGRAM – TOWN TWINNING

Strengthening Communities through the CERV Town Twinning Programme

The Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) Programme offers towns and municipalities across Europe a unique opportunity to connect, exchange, and grow together. Through its Town Twinning initiative, local authorities and civic organisations are encouraged to build long-lasting partnerships with their European counterparts, fostering dialogue and cooperation across borders.

Town Twinning is more than a symbolic gesture: it is a practical tool for promoting mutual understanding, active citizenship, and European identity. By organising joint events, cultural exchanges, and discussions on shared challenges such as climate change, digital transformation, social inclusion, and equality, participating towns empower their citizens to learn from one another and to take part in shaping the future of Europe.

With dedicated EU funding, this programme supports projects that strengthen solidarity, bring communities closer, and make European values a tangible part of daily life. It invites citizens of all ages and backgrounds to engage in meaningful encounters, discover common ground, and build friendships that last beyond borders.

By joining the CERV Town Twinning initiative, towns contribute not only to their own local development, but also to a stronger, more united Europe.
