Project Summary
The DIGiTraVEl project aims to tackle the difficulties encountered by the tourism industry as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Its main goal is to provide VET (Vocational Education and Training) instructors and students with the skills and information they need to launch profitable ventures in the burgeoning field of digital tourism.
By developing a VET pathway that facilitates the development of a new business framework, educating newcomers to the tourism industry on how to digitalize their services, and supporting VET trainers with cutting-edge tools, the project seeks to promote the practice of digital tourism. Research at the national and European levels is conducted as part of the DIGiTraVEl project’s activities to inform the project’s development.
Furthermore, the project entails hosting two transnational project meetings (TPMs), one in Greece and one in Romania. The development of a digital platform by EQUALINE, which will act as a central repository for teaching tools and resources, is a crucial part of the project.
In addition, the project partners will work together to create cutting-edge instructional resources, such as an eHandbook, to assist VET students in digitizing their tourism offerings. In order to spread knowledge about the project and its results, four Infodays will be held, one in each of the partner nations. Increased employment opportunities in the tourism sector are one of the expected effects of the DIGiTraVEl project, which is also expected to generate significant revenue for the local and European tourism industries.
It also seeks to increase the number of opportunities for selfemployment for adults who would like to work in the travel and tourism industry.
