Project Summary

The SAFELINE project intends to address the growing problem of cyberbullying and hate speech online, with a special emphasis on how these issues affect young immigrants and refugees in Europe. The project is guided by a set of precise goals and wellorganized tasks intended to develop materials and instruments to improve youth workers’ competencies and advance awareness and inclusion throughout Europe.

The SAFELINE project has two goals. In order to create a project toolkit, SAFELINE first aims to create an extensive database about online speech and cyberbullying. The purpose of this toolkit is to provide youth workers with modernized approaches so they can better assist their target populations, especially young refugees and immigrants.

Second, by establishing an accessible European e-platform, the project hopes to increase the significance of youth work in the digital age. With an emphasis on fostering the inclusion of young immigrants and refugees, this platform will highlight best practices and increase awareness about combating online hate speech and cyberbullying. The SAFELINE project’s activities are divided into multiple stages.

The development of the SAFELINE toolkit, which focuses on digital media literacy skills, research on identifying online hate speech and cyberbullying, project management and coordination, initial and final meetings, and the establishment of a digital educational platform for sharing research findings and toolkit resources are a few of these. The project also includes outreach initiatives, such as multiplier events, to engage stakeholders and promote its results. The SAFELINE project is expected to have a significant impact.

It involves producing necessary materials like project management handbooks, research databases, and manuals for identifying hate speech and cyberbullying on the internet.
