Project Summary

The SAGE project discusses the value of sports in fostering ethical, social, and physical development as well as social integration, tolerance, and understanding.

The project aims to address doping issues through creative educational tools and antidoping education for young athletes, acknowledging the positive role that sports play in education and its contribution to promoting core values. In line with the EU’s Youth Strategy for 2019–2027 and the Europe for Sports Work Plan for 2021–2024, which addresses international challenges to sports integrity like doping, SAGE highlights the significance of educating and fostering critical thinking in young athletes in order to enable them to make informed decisions.

In addition to the creation of an instructional platform, the project activities include study visits, seminars, and project meetings conducted in five different countries. These exercises facilitate the exchange of best practices and life lessons, which are then combined into the online SAGE e-Guide. In general, the SAGE project seeks to address doping issues and promote integrity in sports by empowering young athletes through equal inclusion, education, knowledge, and critical thinking skills. This will help societies become wiser.
